About Us

Humanities Computing provides innovative technology services, user support, and computing resources to meet the academic and administrative needs of the Humanities Division. Our expertise emerges from our ongoing engagement with the intellectual pursuits and activities of our faculty, graduate students and staff.

Our unit works closely with affiliated departments, centers, institutes and technology groups on campus as well as peer institutions, funding agencies and other professional organizations to advance the division's research, academic and administrative goals.

Humanities Computing is led by Michael Wills and divided into three units, each with a distinct area of responsibility. Desktop Support is the first point of contact for faculty and staff for general technical assistance and troubleshooting, as well as new and replacement computers. Research Computing helps faculty find, support, and develop technical solutions for their research projects. Administrative & Academic Computing designs and maintains the servers and databases that support research and administrative projects, coordinates the development of new divisional web sites and provides access to a variety of web-based, collaborative services.
